PALMDALE : Mobile Home Owners Protest
A dozen mobile home owners have vowed to continue picketing Palmdale City Council meetings until an ordinance that allows park owners to increase vacant space rents by any amount is rescinded.
For the second meeting in a row, the protesters carried signs that said the 2-year-old ordinance was unfair.
Three months ago, the city formed a committee made up of mobile home owners, a park owner representative and city officials to seek a compromise.
The committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the City Council chambers. Allen Kragen, vice president of the Mobile Home Alliance, which represents mobile home owners in 13 Palmdale parks, said Friday that his group is going to ask that the ordinance be rescinded.
