Harvey Mudd College has begun construction on the Linde Residence Hall, which will accommodate 80 students when it is completed in a year.
Trustee Ronald Linde and his wife, Maxine, donated $1 million toward the project. The remaining $2.4-million cost of the building will be raised by a bond the college will issue.
The 26,000-square-foot hall will include a kitchen, large study area and lounge. It will have two apartments housing four students each and 12 suites for six students each.
