Children’s Nature Programs--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim is sponsoring a series of weekday nature classes this fall for children attending school on a year-round basis.
Preregistration is highly recommended for the classes, which begin the last week of September.
Activities are designed for children ages 6 to 10; children must have completed kindergarten in order to participate.
Each class is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The class topics are:
COAST WEEK
* “What Are Oceans,” Sept. 28
* “At the Oceans’ Depths,” Sept. 29
* “Rocky Versus Sandy Shores,” Sept. 30
* “Marine Mammals,” Oct. 1
* “People and the Oceans,” Oct. 2
DIRT TO DINOSAURS
* “Rock and Roll Adventure,” Oct. 5
* “Prehistoric Puzzles,” Oct. 6
* “Living Fossils,” Oct. 7
* “Dinosaur Dig,” Oct. 8
* “Dynamic Dinosaurs,” Oct. 9
THE UNHUGGABLES
* “Sticky, Slimy Goo,” Oct. 12
* “Spineless Wonders,” Oct. 13
* “Icky, Sticky, Prickly,” Oct. 14
* “Mysterious Mammals,” Oct. 15
* “Silent Slitherers,” Oct. 16
The cost is $8 per child for each half-day class.
Those interested can register in person at Oak Canyon Nature Center.
To register by mail, send the names of the classes you wish to register for and a check--made payable to the city of Anaheim--to the Anaheim Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd., Room 433, Anaheim, Calif. 92805, Attention: Oak Canyon Nature Center, Fall Intersession Classes.
