AL VS. DAN: George Bush may score higher than Bill Clinton in popularity in Orange County, but the Republicans don’t do as well when it comes to ranking the vice presidential candidates. . . . A Times poll taken last weekend shows Democrat Al Gore with a 47% favorable rating here, Dan Quayle at only 41%. But worse for the vice president, his unfavorable rating was 57%; Gore’s was just 27%. More than one-fourth of those polled were undecided about Gore; almost everyone had an opinion on Quayle.
Gore Vs. Quayle
Al Gore has a more positive image locally than Vice President Quayle, but one-fourth of Orange County poll residents have no impression of the Tennessee senator:
Gore Quayle Favorable 47% 41% Unfavorable 27% 57% Don’t know 26% 2%
