What really mattered in New York this past week--George Bush and Dan Quayle at the Republican National Convention or Woody Allen and Mia Farrow at their lawyers’ offices? We took a look at the city’s four main papers Wednesday, the morning after Allen’s uncharacteristic press conference at which he denied Farrow’s allegations of child abuse. Following is a tally of the number of inches of copy devoted to each news event in the four papers. Totals do not include pictures or the space occupied by the Allen/Farrow story on the covers of the three tabloid papers.
