Michael Brotherton drove to a quarter-mile time of 4.928 seconds at 287.63 m.p.h. to claim the top fuel title over Eddie Hill in the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Kent, Wash. Other winners in the $888,400 event at Seattle International Raceway were Al Hofmann in funny car and Mark Pawuk in pro stock.
