SATICOY : Ill Health Blamed in Murder-Suicide

An elderly couple found dead in their home over the weekend resorted to murder-suicide because they were ill and did not wish to be a burden on their family, officials said Sunday.
Nohuo (Bill) Yeto, 81, and his wife, Miyedo, 84, were found dead early Saturday at their home in the 10600 block of Modoc Street in Saticoy. Their daughter, who lives a few blocks away and was caring for the couple, discovered her parents lying on the bed in the mother’s bedroom, Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said.
The husband had shot his wife in the head and then himself, Wingate said.
A .32-caliber revolver and a note were found at the scene.
“The substance of the note was they were both ill and they were fearful of losing their independence,” Wingate said.
The husband suffered from heart disease, and the wife had respiratory problems.
“The daughter was taking very good care of them,” he said, but “they didn’t want to become a burden.”
