Rothbard on Democrats
When Hillary Clinton speaks of children’s rights, she is not referring to kids who want to sue their parents for larger allowances or who are rebelling against cleaning their rooms. Mrs. Clinton is advocating the rights of a 10-year-old not to suffer further beatings by his or her mother, the rights of any child who is left alone, unfed and unsupervised, while parents go off to drink or shoot drugs. As she has stated, “I feel strongly that children deserve to have some innocence and time to accommodate to the world of adulthood.”
If this is the kind of person Rothbard refers to as a “menace,” someone who is “out to grab your kids,” then I question Rothbard’s use of the words “sane” and “reasonable” to defend his point of view. Mrs. Clinton’s is not a skewed perspective, it’s the perspective of a loving, caring human being.
