Northwest Air Parent Reports $146-Million Loss: NWA Inc., parent of Northwest Airlines, reported that its second-quarter losses widened to $146 million due to the air-fare wars and economic weakness. The loss compares to $17.1 million worth of red ink in the year-ago quarter. Northwest reported a $68.9-million loss for the quarter, contrasted with a profit of $32.7 million for the same 1991 period.
