OPEC Production Rises: Five OPEC nations raised oil production last month to push the cartel more than half a million barrels a day over its self-imposed output ceiling, according to estimates. But analysts predicted demand for OPEC crude would increase in the coming months, sopping up any extra oil on the market. A report by the International Energy Agency in Brussels said the 13-nation Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries pumped an estimated 24 million barrels of oil a day in July, up 200,000 barrels from June. OPEC had set a ceiling of about 23.4 million barrels a day for the July-September quarter.
