Clorox Plans $32-Million Write-Down: Clorox Co. said it will deduct about $32 million from its fourth-quarter earnings to write down assets related to its bottled water, food service and Kingsford charcoal businesses. Because of the write-down, profit for fiscal 1992 ended June 30 will be about $52 million--or 95 cents a share--lower than it would have been. Still, the company said it will report a “significant improvement” over year-ago earnings of $52.7 million, or 98 cents a share. Clorox said the write-down will let it focus more on its core household products businesses.
