Ross Perot’s Budget Plan

A gasoline tax hike was proposed by Ross Perot’s economic plan according to the Times editorial.
I campaigned door-to-door for John Anderson in 1980 and constantly heard two complaints: That he couldn’t win because he was running as an independent and that nobody would accept his proposal of a 50-cent gasoline tax.
Maybe if voters looked further ahead than the next 24 hours and had made a small sacrifice then we wouldn’t be in this big mess now.
