Life is quite different for NBA Olympic players who are not on the U.S. team.
The U.S. team has stayed in resorts in San Diego and Monte Carlo while training, but the Lithuanians ran out of money before the European qualifying tournament.
Warrior guard Marciulionis and assistant coach Nelson flew back to the Bay area to raise money for the team.
Marciulionis said he raised about $100,000 of the $200,000 the team needed to finance its Olympic effort.
This a daily roundup of Olympic-related items from reporters in Barcelona from the Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Baltimore Sun and Hartford Courant, all Times-Mirror newspapers.
