Lloyd G. (Del) Castillo, 99, one of the original silent film organists who established the first school for theatrical organists in Boston. After the advent of sound pictures he became a production executive for CBS on the East Coast, moving to Los Angeles in 1941, where he composed music for the radio dramas “Stars Over Hollywood.” He also scored some of the “Mr. Magoo” cartoons, composed incidental music for the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts and wrote a column for the magazine of the American Organ Society. He performed in concert regularly until shortly before his death on July 6 in Los Angeles.
