SDSU Hires Gardner as an Assistant

San Diego State has hired Susie Gardner, head coach at Anderson (Junior) College in South Carolina for four years, as an assistant women’s basketball coach. Gardner, 28, led the 1988-89 Anderson women to a 24-4 record and a final ranking of 16th in the nation.
BOXING
The parking lot of University Square, 5881 University Ave., will be turned into a boxing arena on Saturday as members of the Bates Street Boxing Club ranging in age from 13 to 24 will stage five hours of exhibitions beginning at noon.
Tickets are $5 and proceeds go to benefit the Bates Street Community Resource Center.
