A memorial service will be held Sunday for Beverly William (Bev) Wallace, a former Compton Junior College, San Francisco 49er and New York Giant quarterback who died June 17 at his home in Corona del Mar. He was 69.
Wallace was voted the most valuable player in the first Junior Rose Bowl game in 1946 after leading Compton to a 19-0 victory over Kilgore, Tex.
