Port Hueneme police arrested two brothers Wednesday as suspects in a robbery of a convenience store in which a clerk was beaten and kicked two months ago, authorities said.
Mario Prado, 20, and Brian Prado, 18, of Port Hueneme were arrested without incident after police identified them as suspects in the Feb. 13 robbery of the Circle K store on Pleasant Valley Road, Police Sgt. Fernando Estrella said.
Police believe that the brothers smashed the glass front door of the closed market just before 1 a.m. while a clerk, Salvadore Casas, was restocking shelves, Estrella said.
The robbers punched and kicked Casas numerous times before removing an undisclosed amount of money from the register and beer from the cooler, he said.
Police received anonymous phone tips about the robbery through Ventura County’s Crime Stoppers program, Officer Anthony Paradise said. “We got a lot of calls on this one,” he said.
