A plan to move the San Francisco Giants to San Jose went to the voters after the City Council approved a key ballot issue to build a multimillion-dollar stadium for the team.
The council approved the ballot issue, 9-1, late Tuesday night after a four-hour hearing that saw rappers, baseball fans, homeowners and the homeless take sides beneath an umbrella of orange and black balloons and banners.
