Arcadia : Plan for New Fire Station
City officials delayed giving the go-ahead to a proposed $2.6-million fire station to replace an existing one at Baldwin Avenue and Huntington Drive.
Fire Chief Gerald Gardner presented the preliminary plans to the City Council on Tuesday. Gardner said later that the present station, built about 35 years ago, is deteriorating and too small for the six-member crew and equipment.
Council members said they need more time to review the proposal. They set a vote for March 17.
If approved, the new one-story, 11,750-square-foot structure will be built south of the existing station.
