Upgrading Airport Security: Holmes & Narver Inc., an engineering and architectural company based in Orange, will design extensive security system upgrades at the Reno Cannon and Tucson international airports. The upgrade projects are a result of the Federal Aviation Administration’s call in 1989 for tightened security procedures controlling access in and around airport facilities.
Bernie Roswick, a spokesperson for the company, said the combined cost of the projects will total about $4 million.
Holmes & Narver is under contract with the FAA to design control towers and security systems at airports around the country. It recently drew up plans for a new tower at Los Angeles International Airport. In 1989, the company was the lead architect in the renovation of John Wayne Airport.
