U.S. Ambassador Lambert Quits Post in Ecuador

QUITO, Ecuador — U.S. Ambassador Paul C. Lambert, who called this a country plagued by corruption and excessive bureaucracy, has resigned, the U.S. Information Service said Wednesday. Lambert was not available for comment and no explanation was given for his decision.
