On Oct. 31, my husband and I flew from Zurich, Switzerland, to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on a fully loaded plane. We got to our area (for U.S. citizens) and were asked to stop, which we did for about a second. A young U.S. Customs man asked us to come to him, which we did. He took the passports and the declarations we had made out on the plane. He checked them over, told us to get our luggage, which we did and walked over to the place to pay or leave the area. The four young men at the exit area passed us on our way. We took our luggage to be rechecked to Tucson and were on our way to our next flight--all of that took 15 minutes, a miracle at JFK.
