Jake Iverson has resigned as the boys’ and girls’ volleyball coach at San Clemente High school, Athletic Director Jim McNaught said Monday.
Iverson, dean of boys’ coaches in Orange County, has been the only volleyball coach at the school. He began coaching the boys’ team in 1975 and started the girls’ program in 1978.
“I think basically it was a personal decision,” McNaught said. “Jack felt it was time for a change for everyone.”
Under Iverson, the Tritons won the Southern Section championship in 1976, beating Santa Barbara in the finals.
