Environmental Services Guide Issued in Spanish

In an attempt to reach the Latino community, the Los Angeles Environmental Affairs Department on Monday released a Spanish-language guide to services aimed at improving the environment.
The 20-page guide includes telephone numbers and addresses of dozens of local, regional and federal agencies--including household hazardous waste disposal sites, recycling centers and ride-sharing agencies.
Dubbed the “Green Pages,” the Community Guide to Environmental Services was released in English last year. Free copies of the guide can be obtained by calling the department’s hot line at (800) 439-4666. People outside the city can call (213) 237-2771. Hot line operators will also answer questions on environmental issues.
