San Diego Fire Department investigators are checking into the cause of a $35,000 fire that destroyed a 30-foot cabin cruiser tied up at Sea World dock in Mission Bay.
The fire broke out Thursday afternoon and quickly consumed the craft. Witnesses said the blaze apparently started in the engine compartment of the boat.
The vessel was not part of the Sea World aquatic park fleet. It was owned by John Gabriel of San Diego.
