Highland 30, Littlerock 14--Defensive back Ken Lewis’ 62-yard interception return was the back-breaker as the Bulldogs (9-1) scored 16 points in a three-minute span in the third quarter of the nonleague game.
The game marked the first varsity meeting between the Antelope Valley schools and capped their first varsity seasons.
Highland led, 7-6, at halftime, but opened the second half with an 11-play, 88-yard drive capped by a 36-yard touchdown pass from Travis Sabadin to Jeff Tepper. Cleveland Williams ran for a two-point conversion to make the score 15-6.
Six plays after the kickoff, Lewis stepped in front of a Mitch Casey pass at the Highland 38-yard line and raced untouched for the score. A conversion pass from Jeff Tyler to Jermaine Brooks increased the margin to 23-6.
