COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UC Irvine Defeats No. 10 Air Force in Water Polo

UC Irvine, the second-ranked water polo team in the NCAA Division I, defeated 10th-ranked Air Force, 16-7, in a nonconference game Tuesday at Heritage Park in Irvine.
Skylar Putman scored three of his game-high four goals in Irvine’s five-goal first quarter and the Anteaters led, 10-2, at halftime.
Steve Gill and Pablo Yrizar each scored three goals for Irvine (18-6).
In Big West Conference women’s volleyball:
UC Irvine 3, Utah State 0--Dana Chalais had 11 kills, Scotleen Risley had eight and Wendy Kohler had 11 digs for the host Anteaters (9-14, 4-11). Kimberly Kammerer had nine kills for Utah State (2-27, 0-16).
