Chicago firefighters discovered 10 bodies in a house, apparent victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, an official said. A couple and their eight children, ages 11 to 25, lived in the house, a neighbor said. Firefighters responding to a report of an unconscious person found the victims in several rooms of the single-story, five-room home on the city’s Southwest Side, Fire Department spokesman Mike Cosgrove said. He said the people appeared to have died of carbon monoxide poisoning, perhaps because of a furnace flue that backed up gases into the house.
