Alderete Sets Record, Wins Players West Golf

SAN CLEMENTE — Loretta Alderete shot a course-record four-under-par 67 Thursday, overcoming a three-shot deficit to win the $8,500 Wyland Players West Classic at Pacific Golf Club.
Alderete, who began the round tied for third, finished with a par 213 for the three-round tournament, one shot better than Felicia Brown.
Pat Hurst, the second-round leader, shot a three-over 74 and finished third.
