Alan Harper, 61, television producer who was the arts editor of “CBS News Sunday Morning.” Harper produced segments on diverse artists as ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev and 19th-Century French painter Georges Seurat. Harper, born in Manhattan, studied at the Yale University School of Drama and at the New School. He worked in off-Broadway theater before joining CBS in 1958. In New York on Oct. 19 of lung cancer.
