Trilogy’s New Deal: The producers of Warner Bros.’ biggest summer hit, “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” starring Kevin Costner, are following that studio’s just-departed worldwide production chief to Columbia Pictures. Trilogy Entertainment Group principals Pen Densham, Richard Lewis and John Watson have a three-year, first-look development and production deal with Columbia, the studio said. It’s the first major agreement for Columbia since Mark Canton, the former Warner executive, took over as chairman four weeks ago. The Trilogy partners produced “Robin Hood” for Morgan Creek Prods., and another summer film, “Backdraft” with Imagine Entertainment. Together, both films have grossed nearly $600 million worldwide.
