Keith Carlton Robertson; Author of Children’s Books, Mysteries

Keith Carlton Robertson, 77, a writer of mysteries and children’s books. Robertson wrote his first children’s book, “Ticktock and Jim,” in 1948. He wrote the five-book “Henry Reed” series for children from 1958 to 1986. “Henry Reed, Inc.” won him the William Allen White Children’s Award in 1961. “Henry Reed’s Babysitting Service” earned him the prize in 1969. Kansas schoolchildren pick the William Allen White winners. Under the pen name Carlton Keith, Robertson also wrote six murder mysteries for adults. In Hopewell, N.J., on Sept. 23 of cancer.
