Nordhoff 3, Desert 0--Aaron Fabbian’s 30-yard field goal in the third quarter was enough to even Nordhoff’s record at 1-1. Nacho Vega gained 70 yards in 20 carries for Nordhoff.

Paraclete 26, Rosamond 21--Visiting Paraclete unleashed a punishing running game and came up with two key defensive plays during two fourth-quarter goal-line stands.

Senior running back Nathan Betz rushed for a career-high 161 yards in 28 carries with two touchdowns to lead Paraclete (1-1). But it took an interception by Matt Rigali and a knockdown of a pass minutes later by Tony Papa on fourth and goal to hold off Rosamond on separate occasions at the goal line in the last five minutes.
