NEWBURY PARK : Robber With Note Steals Bank’s Cash
- Share via
A Bank of America branch in Newbury Park was the target of a noontime robber Tuesday who escaped with an undisclosed amount of money after handing a teller a note that stated he was armed, authorities said.
A search for the suspect by sheriff’s air and canine units was unsuccessful.
The robbery occurred at 12:40 p.m. at the bank’s branch on Borchard Road, when a man with a thin mustache handed a teller the note, a sheriff’s report said.
Although the note said the man had a gun, witnesses did not see a weapon, FBI Special Agent Larry Dick said. The suspect fled on foot, Dick said.
