A man pleaded not guilty Friday to shooting his 4-year-old son to death after an argument about drugs with the boy’s stepmother, authorities said.
Harold D. Estrada, 32, who has been held without bail on a murder charge since the Aug. 23 shooting, was ordered to return to court Sept. 13 for a bail hearing. His son, Timothy Flores, was shot to death in Estrada’s apartment on East Harvard street behind Glendale High School, Police Detective Bob Masucci said.
Estrada and his wife, Sandra, had been arguing over his PCP use until she went into a bedroom. The boy ran into the living room, and his father allegedly shot him to death, Masucci said. As the boy’s stepmother called police, Estrada fled the apartment. He was found prone on a sidewalk about a block away. Estrada allegedly told police he didn’t remember anything about the shooting because he was under the influence of drugs.
