PLACENTIA : Woman, 71, Struck, Killed by Pickup

A 71-year-old woman was hit by a pickup truck and killed Wednesday while she was in the crosswalk of an intersection, police said.
Eleanor Grijalva of Placentia died at UCI Medical Center in Orange, Placentia Police Lt. Bob Jones said.
Grijalva was crossing the street in the 600 block of West Chapman Avenue at Melody Lane when she was struck by the pickup heading east on Chapman, police said.
The truck was driven by Edward Fitzgerald, 19, of Yorba Linda, Jones said. Fitzgerald was not held or cited pending further investigation.
