Growth-Inspired Homedco to Buy Competitor’s Units

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Homedco Group Inc., a home respiratory therapy company, has agreed to buy up to 12 branches from a competitor, Glasrock Home Health Care Inc. in Atlanta, to expand its operations in California and the Southwest, the company announced Wednesday.
Terms of the letter of intent, signed Tuesday, were not disclosed.
Homedco provides home respiratory services, respiratory medication and home medical equipment from 112 branches nationwide, according to Karen Thomsen, Homedco vice president of marketing. Homedco had revenue of $194 million in 1990.
With the acquisition, the company will expand its operations to Albuquerque and Las Cruces, N.M., Las Vegas, Victorville, Calif., and possibly to Roswell, N.M., Thomsen said.
