It is difficult to decide whether it is more annoying to discover the amount of money (even fractional) that TV news reporters (anchors in particular) are paid for “reading” the news, or accept the fact that, in spite of those salaries, they are not required to use proper English. I constantly hear all versions of “have got.” At the very least, TV news people should be required to pronounce ordinary garden-variety words.
