DANA POINT : New Head Chosen for Planning Panel

Lynn Dawson was elected chairwoman of the Planning Commission this week, replacing Commissioner Carlos Olvera.
Commissioner Robert Montgomery was elected vice chairman.
Dawson, 52, a five-year resident of the Monarch Beach section of the city, was elected chairwoman by her four fellow commissioners. She has served on the commission since Dana Point’s incorporation in January, 1989.
As chairwoman, she will lead the commission through the passage of the city’s first zoning regulations, expected to take place this summer.
