Take Down the Shingle: Michele Greene, who has portrayed attorney Abby Perkins since “L.A. Law” debuted in 1986, is leaving the NBC series. “My five years on ‘L.A. Law’ were just terrific, but it’s time I start thinking about the next step in my career,” the 27-year-old actress explained. With Harry Hamlin, Jimmy Smits and executive producer David E. Kelley also leaving, this seemed like “the perfect opportunity to take a giant leap in another direction,” she noted. Greene might appear in a few episodes next season to wrap up the storyline.
