A Warner Springs man was killed and another man injured when their car crashed into a signpost and a tree on California 79 in Julian, the California Highway Patrol said Friday.
Stephen Paul Lawrence, 31, was dead at the scene, a CHP spokeswoman said. The driver, Paul J. Talarico, 23, of Aguanga, Calif., was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition with a back injury, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The accident occurred about 11 p.m. Thursday near Fink Road, the CHP said.
