VENTURA : House OKs Harbor Dredging Funds
- Share via
The House of Representatives has approved a $3.1-million appropriation for dredging Ventura Harbor and repairing the offshore breakwater.
Rep. Robert J. Lagomarsino (R-Ventura) said the money, included in a budget bill for the Army Corps of Engineers, would be available in the fall.
The bill, approved in the House on Wednesday, now goes to the Senate for consideration.
Although Ventura Harbor is owned and managed by the Ventura Port District, the structures at the entrance to the harbor are designated as federal projects requiring federal funding, said Richard Parsons, port district general manager.
