Intel to Unveil Supercomputer at Caltech: The machine, said to be the world’s fastest computer, will be unveiled today by Intel Corp. and will be operated at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena by a consortium of more than a dozen research institutions and government agencies. The Touchstone Delta System can be used for large-scale problem solving, such as searching large volumes of radio telescopic data, visualizing scientific data from the Magellan and Galileo spacecraft and simulating models of brain circuits, scientists said.
