A private investigator claimed that she gave former Raider running back and Las Vegas City Council candidate Frank Hawkins a $2,000 campaign contribution in exchange for Hawkins agreeing to help her set up a prostitution business.
The investigator also said Hawkins agreed to get an under-age dancer a job at a topless bar after she auditioned in front of him at a friend’s apartment.
The allegations were reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which said casino owner Bob Stupak--father of Nicole Stupak, 22, Hawkins’ opponent in next week’s election--brought to the newspaper a secret recording of the investigator and Hawkins, which appeared to implicate Hawkins.
Hawkins charged that the tapes were selectively edited to delete comments that show him in a better light. But he admitted he used poor judgment.
