An attorney for Los Angeles Police Officer Theodore J. Briseno, who faces felony charges of assaulting Rodney G. King with a deadly weapon, said Friday that he wants his Police Department disciplinary hearing open to the public and news media.

Briseno’s lawyer has asked Superior Court Judge Bernard Kamins to clarify whether his order includes the disciplinary hearing.
