FILLMORE : Panel Cites Project’s Traffic Safety Effects
- Share via
Fillmore’s Planning Commission told Malibu developer Richard Sall Thursday that his proposed 21-unit housing development south of California 126 near Pole Creek could create traffic safety problems.
Sall has proposed building manufactured houses ranging from 1,100 to 1,200 square feet. City planners suggested that the houses might need to be modified to avoid a prefab look.
City planners said the environmental study would take at least six months. Sall is expected to present detailed plans to the commission in the summer.
Planning commissioners said the five-acre building site would have to be built up because it is lower than the concrete channel that contains Pole Creek and might be subject to flooding.
Planners also said a study of the environmental effect of the project would have to be done before construction could begin.
