One man was killed and two women were injured in a traffic accident Thursday morning in the 6000 block of Mission Gorge Road.
William Reed Parris, 43, of the 9900 block of Delia Lane in Santee, was dead at the scene after the car in which he was a passenger was broadsided by a pickup truck about 8 a.m.
Parris and his sister-in-law, Ann Masquard, 30, of Santee, were heading south and preparing to make a left turn onto Zion Avenue, when their car was broadsided by a pickup truck headed north on Mission Gorge. The driver of the pickup truck ran a red light, said police spokesman Bill Robinson.
Masquard is in fair condition with a concussion and chest cuts at Sharp Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
