Fluor Corp. Wins Tax Refund Fight: The Fluor Corp. announced that it expects to receive about $12 million in federal tax refunds and interest as the result of a settlement of a long-standing dispute with the Internal Revenue Service. The Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation notified the company this week that it had approved the refund, which stems from a disagreement between Fluor and the IRS over taxes owed by Fluor subsidiary St. Joe Minerals. The tax refund, which amounts to about 14 cents per share, will be added to Fluor’s earnings for the second quarter.
