FULLERTON : Hayward Professor New Dean at CSUF

Cal State Fullerton has announced that its new dean of the School of Communications is a longtime administrator and professor from Cal State Hayward.
Elizabeth Walker Mechling, who will start July 15, is replacing David B. Sachsman, the founding dean of the 3-year-old school, who told his supervisors in November that he is resigning to pursue other, unstated interests.
Mechling has been executive assistant to the president at Cal State Hayward for about three years. Before that, she was professor and chair of the department of marketing at Hayward’s business school beginning in 1980. She has a doctorate and master’s degree in speech communications.
