A fire ignited by a pan of oil left on a hot stove caused $10,000 in damage to a Thousand Oaks restaurant, fire officials said Thursday.
The blaze at the Mandarin Wok Chinese Restaurant in the 100 block of N. Moorpark Road began Wednesday about 10:30 p.m., Ventura County Fire Dispatcher Cece Grives said.
Thirteen firefighters responded to the fire, which was extinguished by 11:20 p.m., Grives said. A sprinkler system was activated and a fire-suppressing chemical was released from the hood of the stove, he said.
No one was injured in the fire, authorities said. The restaurant was closed for business Thursday, a restaurant spokesman said.
